New Pricing for Nyungwe National Park 2023

The new pricing for Nyungwe National park is here and coming into effect by January 01st, 2023. The 2023 new pricing for Nyungwe is aimed at encouraging extended stays, with a higher entry fee for the first day, or night, and a reduced fee for subsequent nights. Book Now

Special activity fees have also been revised from that of the previous years. Canopy walk fees for international visitors will be US$ 40.00 per person, US$ 20 for foreign residents in Rwanda/EAC, and US$ 25 for Rwandan Citizens and East African Citizens.

Note: The above fees will exclude entry fees to the park and children 5 years or below will not be charged entry fees.

Also in the new tariff guide for Nyungwe 2023, the Chimpanzee trekking permit will be  Rwandan/EAC Citizens US$ 25,  East African Citizens /Residents US$ 75, and International Visitor US$ 150.

In ensuring sustainability and more revenue generation, more products have been put in place including, Commercial filming & photography in the Nyungwe forest, an annual pass for any visitor seeking to have it, it is now possible, camping and tent hire readily available and you can speak to us for any arrangements.

Also note (Canopy Walkway, Guided Birding, Other primate trekking, and nyungwe night treks) Minimal group size  2 (if one then pays for 2) and a max of 8. Groups could be joined specifically when on primate or
night walking (including Guide)

Community freelance guiding fees have also been included in the new pricing for Nyungwe forest. See below fees will apply
Guides (Community Freelance)

Guide for regular forest walks
-Per guide / ½ day US$ 15
-Per guide / full day US$ 25
-Porter Per porter / ½ day US$ 5
-Porter Per porter / full day US$ 10

Notes: 
Guides and porters picked up from the reception before 9 am and returned to the same reception
within 5 hours will be considered as ½ day activity. Guides and porters picked up from reception after
9 am will be charged for a full day unless the guide is returned before midday. If a guide is requested
to accompany a visitor to one of the multi-day walking trails, an additional fee of 15,000 RWF is applied
for the guide’s accommodation and food for up to 3 nights. Porters requested for multi-day treks will
be subject to an additional fee of 15,000 RWF applied for the accommodation and food for up to 3
nights. Any supplement nights will command a top-up of 5,000 RWF per extra night

For every 8 tourists (excluding children 5 and under) there will be a requirement to have a guide. This
is to ensure the safety of guests but also ensure the information shared by the guide can be absorbed
and heard by all.

We invite you to visit Nyungwe forest national park and other places in Rwanda including Volcanoes national park, which is popular for Rwanda gorilla trek tours and golden monkeys, or simply visit the wildlife Akagera national park for a chance to spot the Big five animals. Akagera is the only park in Rwanda to see rhinos in Rwanda.
