The nature walks in Nyungwe forest happen in different trails including birding walking, canopy walk, Ngabwe trail walk, Congo Nile trail walk, Isumo water walk trail and Irebero walk trail and among others.

The Buhoro walk trail extends for two and a half (2.5) kilometers for a round trip and are so far one of the shortest hiking trails in Nyungwe Forest National Park and this rewards tourists with chances of encountering some of the outstanding residents of the Park including the bird species such as the Black-billed Turaco, Great blue Turaco, and many others including tree species and butterflies.

Igishigishigi walk trail is one of the most popular and exciting hiking trails within Nyungwe Forest National Park, offering tourists with opportunities of undertaking the interesting Canopy walk. The tail stretches approximately 2.4 kilometers about one and a half kilometers to compete, and this offers you a breathtaking experience as you walk on top of tree canopies and spot the numerous bird species, butterflies and primates among others.

Imbaraga walk trail is one of the most riveting but relatively difficult hiking trails within Nyungwe Forest National Park. This trail is one of the first trails that were developed in Nyungwe, covering 10 kilometers round trip and takes up to 6 hours to complete. Imbaraga trail traverses through four magnificent waterfalls, verdant valleys, rivers and offers views of several outstanding tree species as well as Chimpanzees (if lucky) that can’t be found in other trails.

The Kamiranzovu walk trail is one of the walking trails within Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National Park, leading tourists to the lush Kamiranzovu marsh with numerous aquatic and wetland bird species. It ushers tourists to the Kamiranzovu waterfall and swamp and extends for about 10 kilometers for a round trip, lasting approximately 3 hours to complete.

The waterfall walking trail in Nyungwe takes tourists through an off-beaten track to encounter some of the precious attractions found within the mountainous rainforest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Walking with the waterfall trail brings the feeling of the Tarzan movie-the primates, verdant vegetation, streams and rivers flowing through the forest floor and the birds.

Other riveting nature walk trails elsewhere in Rwanda include Walk the Nile in Akagera National Park. This starts for the south gate taking visitors to stunning hills along the fence outside the park, this gives an experience of what fence attendants go through in protecting wildlife.
