Rwanda has introduced a Nyungwe zipline activity that will add to the country’s impressive range of tourist attractions in the beautiful Nyungwe Forest National Park, which covers an area of 1,019 square kilometers.
This Nyungwe zipline will stretch between 1.5 and 1.9 kilometers long and will soar between 20 and 50 meters above the ground. It will be the second zipline in Rwanda, following the one located at Mount Kigali Park in Kigali City, and it’s expected to be the longest zipline in the East African region.
Adventurers will launch from the Uwinka entrance of the park, flying over the lush Nyungwe Forest and connecting to the Canopy Walkway, offering an exciting airborne experience.
The Nyungwe Zipline will perfectly complement two other popular attractions in the park: the stunning Nyungwe Canopy Walkway and the scenic Ndabarare Waterfall trail. Nyungwe is also famous for hosting the largest variety of primates in Africa, making it a must-visit destination.
The Nyungwe Canopy Walkway itself is an amazing suspension bridge that stretches 160 meters long and stands 70 meters high, allowing visitors a thrilling view of the ancient treetops and diverse wildlife below. Visitors can access this experience during guided tours along certain trails, such as the Igishigishigi trail, as well as the Imbaraga or Umuyove trails.
